We believe that our strength as humans lies in our ability to collaborate, and that good communication is the key. We think that knowing yourself better is the ultimate form of knowledge and the greatest path to improvement.
"Virtuosis" draws inspiration from the Latin word "virtuosus," which in ancient Rome denoted a person of character, strength, and moral excellence. Over time, it evolved to describe someone with exceptional skill, especially in music.
Virtuosis AI was founded in 2021 by Lara Gervaise and Edoardo Giudice as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). The company emerged from Lara's research, which was a cross-disciplinary collaboration between machine learning engineers and behavioral psychologists, focused on using artificial intelligence to improve communication. Further developments in audio analysis and AI expanded the project to address mental health issues and health diagnostics.
One of Virtuosis AI’s significant milestones has been our collaboration with Microsoft, where our solution was successfully integrated into Microsoft Teams. This partnership broadened our reach and demonstrated the potential of our AI to provide personalized, confidential insights into employee well-being. Virtuosis AI was also recognized as the Startup of the Year by Microsoft Switzerland in 2023 for our innovative approach and the value we bring to enterprise customers.
